India invests in lithium mining to wean itself off China's lithium dependence

On January 15th, according to Global Times, Indian state-owned mining company KABIL announced a cooperation agreement with Argentina to invest $24 million in jointly mining five salt lake brine lithium mines located in Argentina. According to AFP data, China-related products account for more than two-thirds of India's total lithium imports, and this investment aims to strengthen the construction of India's lithium product supply chain to reduce dependence on China's lithium, or may have a certain negative impact on China's exports of lithium batteries and other products.
