On May 29, the Implementation Plan for Improving the Shore Power Utilization Rate of Vessels Calling at the Port of Shanghai (2023) issued by Shanghai proposes that Shanghai Port will gradually realize full coverage of
shore power facilities at port terminals, and shore power facilities will be designed and constructed simultaneously when building, rebuilding and extending wharfs (except oil and gas chemical terminals). It also proposes that the coverage rate of shore power at berths of container terminals will reach more than 90% this year, and strive to achieve full coverage. Under the background of dual carbon, Shanghai Port continues to promote the construction of a port shore power system with green, energy-saving and carbon-reducing effects, which will increase the market application of shore power and other related products to a certain extent.
