In 1977, the first shrimp farm in Mexico was established in the state of Sinaloa. After nearly 40 years of development, this coastal state has become one of the largest fresh shrimp farming areas in Mexico, accounting for about 60% of the national production.
Among them, the coastal region of Los Mochis, occupying a topographical advantage, local residents prefer fresh shrimp, and selling price is high, fresh shrimp industry chain is developing rapidly. There are approximately 900 shrimp farms in the region.
