On July 10, the EU Council passed a new regulation aimed at strengthening the management of batteries and waste batteries. The regulation covers the entire battery lifecycle and ensures that the reuse of critical raw materials as much as possible. In terms of waste batteries, the lithium recovery rate in waste batteries is required to reach 50% by the end of 2027 and 80% by the end of 2031. With the promulgation of new regulations, it is expected that the infrastructure construction of the EU's waste battery recycling industry will be more complete, and the industry will enter into a stage of rapid and high-quality development.
