India Cuts Import Tariffs on Smartphones and Some Key Components

On July 23rd, according to Caixin News Agency, India announced a reduction in import tariffs on smartphones and some key components from 20% to 15%, including smartphones, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), and mobile chargers. This measure will significantly reduce the cost of exporting smartphones to India, directly benefiting smartphone manufacturers, especially Apple. According to institutional predictions, this move will save Apple $35 million to $50 million in export costs annually.
