In order to further ease the national economic crisis, the Pakistani government has decided to restart the tax policy and levy a 17% sales tax on solar modules, inverters and related equipment.
Rana Ghulam Abbas, chairman of the Pakistan Solar Energy Association, said the world is currently setting goals for a zero-carbon economy, supporting green industry trade and penalizing high-carbon industries. If the government makes a decision to restart the tax policy now, it is not a favorable idea for the sustainable development of Pakistan, which will threaten the healthy development of the national photovoltaic industry, and then affect the realization of the national renewable energy goals.
