U.S. Targets Southeast Asian Solar Products with Tariffs

On November 30, Bloomberg News reported that the U.S. Department of Commerce's preliminary review found that solar imports from Southeast Asia were being sold in the U.S. at prices below production costs, constituting unfair trade practices.

In response, the review proposed tariffs of up to 271%, primarily affecting crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells and modules made with these cells imported from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
