U.S. Adds 140 Chinese Semiconductor Companies to Entity List

On December 2, 21st Century Business Herald reported that the United States has released a revised Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to further restrict the development of artificial intelligence and advanced semiconductors in China.

Key measures include:
1. Implementing new controls on 24 types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and 3 software tools used in semiconductor development or production.
2. Introducing new controls on high-bandwidth memory (HBM).
3. Adding 140 entities to the "Entity List," encompassing Chinese equipment manufacturers, semiconductor wafer fabs, and investment firms.
These measures reflect escalating restrictions on China's technological capabilities in advanced industries.
